Construction Dumpster Rentals in Western PA: What to Know Before Your Project Starts

If you’ve ever been in the middle of a remodeling or construction job, you know how quickly the debris starts piling up.

A few sheets of drywall come down. Old flooring gets ripped out. Cabinets, lumber, trim and packaging start getting tossed into a pile. Before long, you’re spending almost as much time figuring out what to do with the mess as you are working on the project.

Having a dumpster sitting on the jobsite from the start can make things a whole lot easier.

At KEI Dumpster Rental, we deliver roll-off dumpsters for construction, remodeling and demolition projects throughout Butler County and surrounding areas of Western PA.

It Usually Takes More Room Than You Think

One thing we see pretty often is people underestimating how much debris a project is going to create.

Take a kitchen remodel. Once the cabinets, countertops, flooring and drywall start coming out, there can be a lot more material than expected. The same thing happens with bathroom remodels, basement renovations, deck tear-outs and other projects around the house.

For contractors, having a dumpster on-site also gives everyone one place to put debris instead of creating piles around the property.

Load it as you work, and when you’re finished, we come back and haul it away.

Pretty simple.

What Size Dumpster Do You Need?

That really depends on the job.

KEI has 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30-yard roll-off dumpsters, so you don’t necessarily need to rent the biggest container available.

A smaller dumpster may be plenty for a bathroom remodel or smaller project. If you’re tearing out a kitchen, working on several rooms or doing a larger renovation, you’ll probably want more room.

For bigger construction and demolition jobs, a 25 or 30-yard dumpster may make more sense.

Not sure? Give us a call.

Tell us what you’re working on and what you expect to be throwing away. We can help you figure out which size makes sense for the job.

Don’t Forget About Weight

This is something people sometimes overlook.

A dumpster may still have room left in it, but that doesn’t always mean you should keep loading it.

Tile, concrete and other construction materials get heavy fast. Dumpster rentals have weight limits, so let us know what you’re getting rid of when you call.

It’s also a good idea to spread heavier debris throughout the dumpster instead of putting all of it in one spot.

And don’t load material above the top of the container. We need to be able to safely haul the dumpster away when you’re finished.

There are also certain things that can’t go into a regular dumpster. If you aren’t sure about something, ask us before you throw it in. It’s a lot easier to answer the question ahead of time.

Construction Jobs Don’t Always Go According to Plan

You open up a wall and find something you weren’t expecting. Materials don’t show up when they were supposed to. A two-day project turns into four.

It happens.

Our standard dumpster rental period is seven days, but additional time may be available if the project runs longer.

If you realize you’re going to need the dumpster for a little while longer, give us a call and let us know.

Filled the First Dumpster?

Sometimes one dumpster just isn’t enough.

This is more common on larger remodels, demolition work and construction jobs where debris keeps coming out as the project moves along.

If you fill the first dumpster and still have work left to do, KEI can coordinate another container so you can keep things moving.
